In June 2026, a Latvian interior design magazine called DEKO gave the Ventus Energy office on Vilandes iela in Riga a three-page spread. The headline: “MAN CAVE.”

It is a flattering tour of the renovated office, complete with designer furniture. The magazine names the designer pieces by brand.

I thought that was pretty weird. The December 2024 office-acquisition material describes a 171.5-square-metre, six-room property. A separate SIA Interbaltija valuation, commissioned by SIA CR Investments and dated 11 December 2024, put the market value as of 6 December at EUR 292,400 for 3/36 ideal shares. Ventus’s presentation projected EUR 467,500 after renovation. Designer furniture is a depreciating asset; putting it in an office does not, by itself, explain a higher property valuation.

But maybe it all just looked expensive or it was just a piece here and there. So I looked up the prices of the products mentioned in the article. Here’s the result:
| Item | Verified price or comparison (EUR) |
|---|---|
| Sofa “Cassina Soriana,” leather, deep burgundy (3-seat per the photos) | EUR 10,032 for a smaller 2-seat fabric version; the pictured version’s price is not public |
| Pendant lamp “Flos Zeppelin” (model Zeppelin 1 identified from the photos) | EUR 4,290 |
| Chair “Tacchini Pigreco” | EUR 2,100 for the leather version |
| Desk lamp “Flos Snoopy,” green | EUR 1,250 |
| Conference chairs “Vitra” | Not verifiable: DEKO does not name the model |
| Pendant lamp “DCW Éditions,” transparent Comparable model: Delumina |
EUR 600 for the comparable Delumina; DEKO does not name the model |
| Conference table “Kanttari,” walnut root, custom Comparable table: Palatino |
EUR 8,000 excluding VAT for the comparable catalog table |
| Coffee tables “Kanttari” (×2), custom Comparable table: Antra |

Brands identified by DEKO magazine (https://www.manizurnali.lv/flip/13592537). Prices checked against manufacturer websites and retailers in August 2026. Comparable prices are not claims about what Ventus paid.

The Flos Zeppelin is a pendant lamp. It costs EUR 4,290. If you put four thousand euros into Ventus, there it is, hanging in the reception.
This list is by no means guaranteed to be exhaustive. It also leaves out what can’t be priced at all, known from the article: French herringbone parquet, custom walnut paneling, a built-in bar with red lacquer interior, and hidden doors.
Ventus did raise retail lender money for this address. In December 2024, it launched a lending opportunity to finance the purchase of the office property at Vilandes Street 6, with a 75% loan-to-value ratio. The acquisition presentation does not describe a sale-and-leaseback. It describes mezzanine funding first, bank refinancing after renovation, and a plan to replace rent with financing costs. Its figures were EUR 3,500–4,000 a month for comparable rent, EUR 2,300–2,500 for acquisition financing, and projected savings of EUR 1,000–1,700 a month.

On paper, Ventus Energy Group is an Estonian “web portal” with EUR 4,166 in registered capital, less than the lamp. It has zero employees, no filed accounts, and no licence while its own statistics page showed, as of May 2026, a EUR 94 million loan book and 6,473 active lenders. On camera, its actual office, enjoyed by the roughly twenty mystery staff in Latvia, looks considerably better furnished.

The Vilandes property itself is the one whose valuation Ventus CEO Henrijs Jansons doctored, pasting “Ventus Energy OU” over the original addressee “Crowdestor” in a PDF that still carries the edit history. The valuation is still on their website as of August 2026.

The DEKO issue hit newsstands in June 2026. That same month, Ventus told investors interest payments were suspended, withdrawals were frozen, and the company announced court-supervised restructuring.

Ventus says full repayment of obligations owed to lenders is the company’s “highest priority.” The office says the priorities were the sofa, the lamp, the bar, and doors that disappear into the wall.
